The US base was a short ti...Thanks for the comment. The US base was a short time camp that was abandoned after two years occupation, I can´t call that a 'settlement'. Saint Martin was a quite more vast project of permanent human presence; it happened that for some years (?) the base was left empty and decayed, I suppose for lack of funding, but it was later restored.
